Solid Timber Console Tables

A console table is the slimmest, hardest-working piece of furniture you can put in a home. Anchored against a wall in a hallway, behind a sofa in a living room, or beneath a window as a display, our solid-timber console tables are shallow enough to never block a walkway (typically 30–35cm deep) and long enough to become a real focal point (100–180cm wide).

Where to Use a Console

  • Entryway console: keys bowl, mail tray, small lamp. Pair with a mirror above.
  • Sofa console: behind a floating sofa in an open-plan living room. Lets you place a lamp without a side table.
  • Under-window console: plants, ceramics, framed photos. Keep it low enough that it does not block the sill.
  • Dining-side console: as an entry-level buffet for compact dining rooms.

Delivery, Showrooms & White-Glove Setup

We ship Australia-wide from our Silverwater (Sydney), Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses. Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane metro receive free delivery on orders over $600; $50 flat rate under $600. Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and Darwin ship via Direct Freight Express with a live rate quoted at checkout — most orders arrive within 5–10 business days.

Prefer to see the timber first? Visit our showrooms at Silverwater NSW, Melbourne VIC, or Brisbane QLD seven days a week (Sydney closed Saturdays for pickup). Room placement, packaging removal and upstairs carries can be arranged as a paid extra, quoted on the day based on access and stairs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a console table and a hallway table?

They are the same thing. Console table is the American term; hallway table is Australian shorthand for a console placed in an entry hall.

How deep should a console table be?

For hallway use, 25–35cm is the sweet spot — deep enough for a lamp and keys, shallow enough not to obstruct the walkway.

Can I use a console as a desk?

Some can — look for consoles that are 74cm tall with clear knee space. Most consoles run slightly taller (75–80cm) than a working desk.
