Solid Oak Dining Chairs Australia

Dining chairs with frames turned and joined from FAS-graded solid American oak. Chairs take more mechanical stress than any other piece of furniture in the home — every meal, every guest, every child leaning back — which is why the joinery, the timber grade and the frame thickness matter more here than anywhere else.

How our oak chairs are built

  • Mortise-and-tenon frames, glued and pegged — not stapled or screwed. Held together the way high-end dining chairs have been made for 200 years.
  • Full solid oak legs and rails — no laminated or veneered components. Under load, solid oak flexes minutely and springs back; particleboard cracks at the joint.
  • Seats: choose between all-oak sculpted seats, fabric upholstery, or bonded leather — every option is over the same solid oak sub- frame.

Sizing your set

Allow at least 60cm of table edge per chair for comfortable seating. A 180cm dining table seats 6 chairs (three each long side); a 240cm table seats 8. Our oak dining chairs stack in pairs for the pair pricing; individual units are also available.

Every Oakwalnut piece is 100% solid timber — never veneer, never MDF, never particleboard. That is why we back the frame and joinery with a 10-year structural warranty. Timber that ages well, and a warranty that outlasts the trends.

Frequently asked questions

Are the seats also solid timber?

The frame, legs and rails are 100% solid American oak. Seat construction depends on the model — all-wood sculpted seats are solid oak; upholstered variants have a solid oak sub-frame with high-density foam and fabric or leather over the top.

How much weight will they hold?

Every Oakwalnut oak dining chair is tested to a 150kg static seat load and 100kg dynamic (rocking-back) load. That is above the AS/NZS commercial chair testing threshold.

Do they stack?

Some models are stackable in twos for storage. Check the product page for the stack rating; upholstered models generally do not stack.

What is the warranty?

10-year structural warranty on the frame and joinery. Fabric and leather have a 3-year finish warranty against manufacturing defects.
